English Learners

The goal of EL instruction in Boyd Elementary is to support English learners in achieving the English language proficiency needed to succeed academically and to realize personal, social, and career goals. 

The EL program is designed to help students improve their English language skills in reading, writing, grammar, listening and speaking. Students who are eligible for EL services are assigned an EL level based on a language assessment. EL teachers then provide supplemental EL development instruction and collaborate with content-area teachers in core subject areas to provide access to grade level academic content and support.
